Locust Grove
At the Center of Everything
Located off Route 250 East, the Locust Grove neighborhood is bookended by Meadowcreek Golf Course and Darden Towe Park to the east and McIntire Park to the west. It’s also a convenient walk, run, or bike ride to the Rivanna River and the Rivanna Trail system. Its proximity to 250 makes it an ideal place to either commute to the major employers in the Charlottesville area or to access Route 64 for travel to Richmond and Staunton, and the neighborhood itself is the site of the home office of CFA Institute, a global association of investment professionals.
Perfect for Families
The majority of homes for sale in Locust Grove are single-family, and they are convenient to a variety of public and private schools in the area (Charlottesville High School is located on the northwest side of McIntire Park.) Locust Grove features a variety of architectural styles, with homes ranging from the 1890s to ones built as recently as 2008
Historic and Convenient
The neighborhood is a short, direct drive away from Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, and is also convenient to the University of Virginia Health System. It’s also convenient to the Charlottesville/Albemarle Regional Airport via the John Warner Parkway to Route 29 North. There is an extensive network of walking trails that track along the Rivanna River.
The location is convenient to such historical sites as Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and the University of Virginia, both UNESCO world heritage sites, as well as James Monroe’s Highland. Residents are a few minute’s drive (or in favorable weather a scenic walk) from downtown Charlottesville and the downtown pedestrian mall, home to one of the most vibrant cultural and culinary areas in the country.
